Visiting scholar, Stephen J. Cowley, presents on distributed view of language

Stephen Cowley, Ph.D.

Developmental psychology professor, Stephen Cowley, visited the Institute recently for an informal presentation and discussion on “why languaging makes us special (for each other).”  Stephen is a Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, having moved there from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.  At a theoretical level, he is a leading advocate of the distributed view of language – relating to language as something not in our heads, but in the world.
