New book — Structure & Improvisation in Creative Teaching — features Carrie Lobman & Tony Perone

A new book on creative teaching, Structure and Improvisation in Creative Teaching (Cambridge University Press), edited by R. Keith Sawyer, was released this month.

It includes chapters by improvisation and play champions, Carrie Lobman, Ed.D., and Ph.D. candidate and Applied Improvisation Network performer, Tony Perone.

Says Lobman:  “More and more educators are recognizing the important inter-relationships among teaching, learning, and improvisation. I am so excited to join many of those colleagues in Keith Sawyer’s new volume.  My chapter, ‘Improvising with(in) the System,’ shares my experiences teaching improvsiational skills and our performance methodology to NYC teachers in the Institute’s Developing Teachers Fellowship Program from 2006-2009.”
