Holzman screens favorite TED Talks at UX

Everybody wanted to talk about learning environments — and how to build good ones!  Thirty-five UX students from neighborhoods across NYC joined UX Global Outreach Chair Lois Holzman for a screening of one of her favorite TED Talks by educator Sugata Mitra, entitled The Child-Driven Education.  Mitra puts forward the view that children can teach themselves, and each other, if they’re motivated by curiosity and peer interest.

Dr. Holzman invited the audience to consider their favorite learning experiences and the ongoing role that play and curiosity have in our lives. The evening was part of a three-week series designed to introduce students (in a group context) to innovators working in all kinds of fields.  It runs through mid-March at the All Stars Project.
